What’s your favorite recipe?
This isn’t good picture, but this is my favorite recipe. What is it, might you ask? RED VELVET CAKE. It’s my grandmother’s recipe. It was written on a card and was passed down. It sits in between pages of a Southern Living cookbook at my mom’s house. It also sits in my brain, stored in the middle, closer to the top on the right side of my brain.
With this one recipe, I can make a lemon Velvet, black velvet, blue and green velvet, and a plain old chocolate cake.
It’s not my favorite because of the variations. It’s my favorite because it’s a family recipe, and people seem to love my version of it.
