Track Season

Tell us about the last thing you got excited about.

My oldest son decided to run track while in middle school. He is named after my late brother, who was also a track runner. So to hear that my son was going to run track, it did something to me on the inside. So every meet was nostalgic. It was like I was at my late brother’s meets, I get teary-eyed when I cheer for my son. When he got into high school, the level of emotion skyrocketed.

Every race, my son was aiming to set a new pr for himself, and he did. The medals began to roll in. He made it to what would be the “semi-finals,” which was his goal, and although he didn’t make it to the finals, he still did his best.

So, every track season, whether it’s indoor or outdoor, I get excited because he found something that excites him, and that excites me.

Although I’m a self-published author with a book coming out, it’s truly the track seasons that get me excited.
