What is your favorite genre of music?

Growing up, there was always music playing in the house. My mom used from the south, so there was always some blues music in the background. My dad listened to a variety of jazz, rock, pop, r&b, rap, country, gospel, and instrumentalists. The only genre I never heard playing was heavy metal. There was always variety.

With the variety, I learned to appreciate all genres…eventually a little heavy metal. Metallica is heavy metal, right?

I think each genre is a mood. When you want to relax, a dinner party you might want to put on some jazz. Cleaning some good down-home blues and some r&b. To get you amped up some rap, pop, and rock.

When I write, I like to listen to some Jay-Z, DMX with a lil r&b mixed in there depending on what Im writing. When I go for walks or workouts, I just let my playlist play because there’s a mixture of everything that I grew up listening to.

I can’t really pick a genre because overall I’m a music lover.
